View Records Sponsored partner optionNew York Courts provides online criminal case tools, but a warrant question still belongs to the responsible court and case. Treat online case search as context, not as a universal active-warrant list.
A case entry can explain the matter; warrant execution and present custody require their own verification.
For a New York warrant search, use eCourts/WebCriminal for available case context, verify warrant-specific questions through the responsible court or clerk, and check current custody separately rather than assuming a public statewide warrant database.
New York Courts e-Courts includes WebCriminal among its case-search applications. That makes it useful for locating available criminal case information and understanding the docket connected to a warrant question. New York Courts also notes that not all case information is available online, so absence from an electronic search should not be treated as proof that no court matter or warrant exists.
A warrant is tied to an issuing court and criminal case. For current warrant questions, use the responsible court or the official procedure identified by that court rather than relying on a third-party name search. Court case data can provide context, but current execution or custody status is a separate operational question.
| Question | Official layer | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| What criminal case is connected to this name/case number? | eCourts / WebCriminal where available | Not all case information is online |
| What does the issuing court record show? | Responsible court or court clerk | Use court-specific access for the actual record |
| Is the person currently in custody? | Responsible jail/detention agency | Court case information is not a live jail roster |
Electronic court coverage is not equivalent to every active warrant.
A court entry does not prove the warrant has been executed.
Check the appropriate detention source separately for present custody.
